Laboratory Services

Fully accredited through COLA, CLIA, and the State of Tennessee, our lab services are available for the Emergency Department, Inpatient and Outpatient Surgery, and Outpatient Services. Services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Lab services are also available on a STAT basis, if your physician needs results immediately.

Patients may bring physician orders for lab service to the hospital or have a physician fax an order to the hospital to obtain lab testing. To receive lab services, a patient must have a signed order by the physician that includes the tests to be performed and a diagnosis or reason why testing is ordered. The lab staff will fax or mail results to a patientís physician, or patients may obtain their own personal copy of the results by visiting our Health Information Management Department and signing a release for information.

Our lab offers a wide range of tests on-site, and for tests not performed directly in our laboratory, a courier service picks up lab specimens and delivers them to our reference labs.

For patients that have a specific test monitored routinely, your physician can write an order with the appropriate frequency so that we can use the order for 6 months without having to obtain a new order each you come for routine testing.

Our Medical Director is Ronald Toolsie, MD. He is a pathologist with Associated Pathology. Pathology services are  available on a scheduled basis. Dr Toolsie is available for physician consultation by phone 24 hours a day.

We also provide lab services for the community and industries in our area. For example, pre-employment drug testing and health screening tests for preventive purposes are available.
