Over 1,100 guests of all ages enjoyed the sights and sounds
of Christmas at the 2010 Rhea-diant Holiday Celebration–Festival of Trees.
Guests walked through a winter wonderland filled with creatively decorated
trees, browsed among beautifully decorated wreaths, tablescapes and
centerpieces as they selected those items they wanted to bid on in the silent
auction.
Children took pleasure in making cards and stockings while
their parents and grandparents listened to the tunes of local singers on center
stage. The Holiday Shoppe, filled with delicious home baked goods, offered
guests the opportunity of taking home a special treat for their family or
friends, while children decorated stockings, made ornaments or designed cards.
Thanks to the support of over 65 volunteers, the event was a
great success raising over $24,000 for Rhea Medical Healthcare Foundation. These
funds were used to help purchase state-of-the-art equipment, community
education programs, projects and services for Rhea Medical Center.
In the past four years, Rhea Medical Healthcare Foundation
has helped purchase items such as a C-Arm surgical x-ray machine and NeoProbe
gamma detection system for the surgical department, a plasma freezer for the
Lab, sleep chairs for Patient Rooms and many other vital pieces of medical
equipment.
In 2010 Women’s Wellness Services became the focus of the
Foundation’s fundraising beginning with bone density and initiating a digital mammography
campaign. This year we will continue to support the enhancement of Rhea Medical
Center Women’s Health Services empowering women to take charge of their health
and wellness.
This year’s theme is a Southern Christmas. The VIP Reception
is scheduled for Friday evening, Nov. 18, 7 p.m.-9 p.m., followed by the public
event on Saturday, Nov. 19, open 11 a.m.-6 p.m., at the National Guard Armory
in Dayton.
Join in the fun as a sponsor, decorator or guest. A number
of sponsorship opportunities are available with benefits according to the level
of participation and will be available on a first come, first served basis,
closing for planning purposes on Aug. 3.
